A Memorable Gala Dinner at the European Veterans Championships

With more than 5,000 participants and visitors in Novi Sad for the European Veterans Table Tennis Championships, the scheduled rest day provided a perfect opportunity to pause from competitive play and discover what the city has to offer. Many took advantage of this break to wander through Novi Sad’s charming streets, while others ventured further afield with excursions to nearby Belgrade.

As evening approached, the celebration moved to Barutana, nestled in the picturesque hills of Fruška Gora, where a spectacular gala dinner created an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie that will long be remembered by all who attended.

Among those in attendance were ETTU President Pedro MOURA alongside ITTF President Petra SÖRLING. Vice President Francophonie Pongiste Internationale Beatrice ROMANESCU joined celebrated table tennis icons and ETTU Vice-President Zoran PRIMORAC, as well as renowned players Aleksandar KARAKAŠEVIĆ and Slobodan GRUJIĆ.

Local dignitaries were equally well represented, with Provincial Secretary for Sports and Youth Dane BASTA, Novi Sad Fair General Director Slobodan CVETKOVIĆ, Sports City Council Member Tatjana MEDVED, Deputy Mayor Danijela ANDRIĆ, and Culture City Council Member Maja ČEREMIDŽIĆ all in attendance.

Tournament Manager Dan FRACILE addressed the gathering, while Serbian Table Tennis Association President Predrag NIČIĆ honored outstanding contributors and partners with commemorative plaques and certificates.

The evening’s entertainment reached new heights with a stirring musical showcase featuring Senka Soldatović & Trio Midnight, beautifully complemented by the skilled violin work of Lana Zorjan. Their performance mesmerized the audience and created memories that will endure long after the championships conclude.
