EVC: ETTU President Visits Provincial Government

The Provincial Secretary for Sports and Youth, Dane Basta, hosted the President of the European Table Tennis Union, Pedro Moura, regarding the organization of the European Veterans Table Tennis Championship, which will be held from June 15 to 22 at the Novi Sad Fair.

Secretary Basta expressed satisfaction that Novi Sad, known as a city of sports, will host the championship, emphasizing that the relevant secretariat is available to provide any kind of support in the realization of this event. The President of the European Table Tennis Union, Pedro Moura, stated that ETTU will also provide support in organizing the championship, which will combine recreational activities and competitive elements.

Basta expressed hope that they will justify their role as hosts, reminding that the City of Novi Sad and AP Vojvodina have a rich table tennis culture, and that the European Senior Table Tennis Championship was held at the Novi Sad Fair in 1974, as well as the World Championship in 1981 at Spens, which was built for that occasion.

The interlocutors emphasized that Serbia is a country of sports and that there are great opportunities for advancement in this field.

Dane Basta highlighted that the relevant secretariat has good cooperation with the Table Tennis Federation of Serbia, AP Vojvodina, and the City of Novi Sad, and their representatives agreed that investments in organizing the table tennis championship will be significant for the future of Novi Sad and Vojvodina.

The meeting was also attended by the President of the Table Tennis Federation of Serbia, Predrag Ničić, the President of the Table Tennis Federation of Vojvodina, Milan Stanić, the President of the Novi Sad Table Tennis Federation, Vladimir Šiška, the Executive Director of the Table Tennis Federation of Serbia, Marko Jevtović, the President of the Supervisory Board of the Table Tennis Federation of Serbia, Dušan Cvejić, and the Executive Director of the Novi Sad Table Tennis Federation, Dan Fracile.
